The week started with good weather. We saw many schools of permit, small tarpon scattered in the red waters caused by the sargassum, and plenty of small and medium-sized bonefish. The group of 8 hangares landed 5 good-sized permit and 1 other very small, many bonefish, some good jack crevalle, several small tarpon, barracuda, and some nice snook..The lodge service was excellent, and the guides were very good. An advantage of this operation is that each boat has an experienced guide and an assistant. In short, the week was very good, and Ascension Bay is undoubtedly a great destination for permit fishing!
