Trip Overview

Located in the heart of the Andes Mountain, Caviahue is 225 miles NW from Neuquén capital city. This mountain village is located at the foot of the Copahue volcano 1,600 meters above sea level, on the shores of the homonymous lake with ancient "Araucaria" forest, lakes, turquoise-colored lagoons and small waterfalls.

The private fishing Ranch covers 50,000 acres, including five interconnecting lakes and rivers like the Trolope lagoon, Rincon lagoon, Larga lagoon, Achacosa lagoon, Trolope river, Agrio river and others. In constant geographical change, the rivers slide slowly through corridors and pools providing stunning views with typical vegetation within virgin surroundings, all perfectly adapted to the moody Patagonian climate.

The fishing in this vast territory is unique, making your catches incredible in both quantity and quality. You can fish from sunrise till sunset without seeing any other angler around.

The record catches in the area were an 11-pound Brown, a 9-pound Rainbow, and a 6.6-pound Brookie. Catch & Release policy is compulsory.

Testimonials

Our trip to Argentina was excellent !!!

By: Kjell O. Hager - January 19th, 2009

Dear Daniel,

Our trip to Argentina was excellent. Everything went very well. Fishing in Caviahue was really diverse since we could fish with dry flies, nymphs and streamers everywhere, from rivers to lakes or even spring creeks. There was also a wide range of fish, which meant that the rainbow, brown and brook trout could be all found in a single lake.
As we were alone in the valley, we felt as if we were the first anglers who had ever fished there. The amount of trout was impressive, and their size "mostly over two pounds" was even more impressive.

At the lodge in Caviahue we were provided with truly customised service and the team made up of Lucio, Antonella, Cristian and Flora went out of its way to serve us with friendliness and the highest level of professionalism. This was shown not only in the meals they cooked for us but also in the cleanliness of the place. We felt welcome from day one.
Caviahue has been one of our best experiences so far, only comparable to some other places we have been to in North and South America, Europe and Africa, both due to the quality of the fishing and to the facilities available to us.

Warm regards,

Kjell and Margareta
