Close to the end of season, the fish gave another great season. While many salmon rivers around the world are seeing smaller returns, the lodge rivers have done pretty well.
The Bonaventure started early and despite the low water conditions the lodge pools were plenty of salmon all season long. The Grand Cascapedia and Bony did well too and the Petit Cascapedia had fair returns, in time and good numbers.
For the most part water conditions remainded very low which made fishing challenging at times. The summer wasn’t really warm therefore water temperatures remained nice and cool.
Rain arrived late in September, not great amounts but enough to maintain the fishing at a good level. It was the best month with good number of fresh salmon and better water conditions.
