PROGRAMA: Cozumel , Península de Yucatán

» Reseña:
Cozumel es una isla turística que se encuentra ubicada frente a Playa del Carmen en la Riviera Maya. La isla cuenta con un aeropuerto internacional y el acceso desde el continente es muy fácil ya que cada hora parte un parte un Ferry de pasajeros desde Playa del Carmen que demora algo mas de 1/2 hora en llegar. La isla de Cozumel rica en herencia y ruinas Mayas es famosa como destino de buceo por la transparencia de sus aguas.

En la costa norte que cubre varios kilómetros, un conjunto de lagunas de agua salada con manglares y bajíos son el hábitat natural de innumerables "bonefish" que llaman la atención por su buen tamaño. La pesca de bonefish es muy buena a lo largo del año y requiere un buen nivel de casteo, sobre todo precisión. También es habitual encontrar "permit", y durante los meses de Abril, Mayo y Junio se puede practicar la pesca con mosca de "Dolphin" (dorado de mar o Mahi Mahi) y de "Sailfish" (pez vela) con bastantes probabilidades de éxito.

Gran parte de las lagunas y la costa de la isla permiten la pesca del bonefish vadeando. También es posible pescar, además de bonefish y permit, pequeños jacks, pargos y barracudas.

Si bien la isla de Cozumel es un destino turístico muy demandado, la zona de las lagunas y flats no tienen acceso por tierra y por lo tanto la pesca del bonefish no tiene presión, además la pesca es con devolución obligatoria. Hay unos pocos guías de pesca con mosca y los mismos son muy profesionales. La pesca con mosca en las lagunas y la costa de Cozumel es a pez visto y se requiere en estas aguas un buen nivel de casteo y precisión para disfrutar de una pesca divertida y desafiante.

» Programa:
El paquete incluye el transfer del hotel a la marina ida y vuelta, 8 horas de pesca con embarcación y guía de pesca, lunch (sandwiches, bebidas gaseosas y agua mineral).

Las salidas son muy tempranas para aporvechar el fructifero "tailing" de las primeras horas, a partir de las 5 ó 6 AM y se regresa a las 2 ó 3 PM. Dejando el resto del día libre para descansar y aprovecharlo en familia.

» Equipos:
El equipo de pesca mas recomendable para la pesca de bonefish es la caña # 8 con línea saltwater floating, buen reel con buena capacidad de backing y buen freno a disco. Leaders de 10 a 12 pies preferiblemente de fluorocarbono, y de 10 y 12 lbs de resistencia, las moscas en anzuelo nº 8 y 6 tipo Crazy Charly o variedades de Camarón (Schrimp) en colores café, rosado y natural.
Para la pesca de alta mar ("Dolphin" y "Sailfish") con cañas # 12Wt con leaders tipo biminitwist. Para el caso que solo se desee pescar "bonefish" y no se quiera llevar equipo de pesca en el viaje, el jefe de nuestros guías podrá proveer todo el equipo a costo muy razonable. Recomendamos ropa ultraliviana de secado rápido, gorra con protector de cuello, botas de neoprene para vadear, y es fundamental el uso de anteojos polarizados. Protector solar Nº 40 (como mínimo). Campera para la lluvia liviana. Repelente de insectos.

» Información adicional:
En Cozumel se puede pescar bonefish a lo largo de todo el año y "Dolphin" y "Sailfish" en los meses de Abril, Mayo y Junio. Si bien hay vuelos regulares a Cozumel, se puede volar a Cancún y de allí se contrata el servicio a Playa del Carmen de vans de Green Line que por U$S 18,00 por pasajero lo llevan a Playa del Carmen. En Playa del Carmen salen los Ferrys cada hora y el costo por tramo por pasajero es de U$S 6,00.
Si se desea se puede combinar la pesca con visitas culturales a las ruinas mayas de la isla , hacer buceo, jugar golf, hacer shopping y disfrutar de las deliciosas comidas en varios de los famosos restaurantes de Cozumel. También podrá rentar un auto y visitar otras playas y atracciones de la isla.
Para ingresar a México no se necesita visa. Previo a cada viaje nosotros nos encargamos de enviar un ayuda memoria con la lista completa de equipos y elementos necesarios.
La salida de pesca por el día sin alojamiento es de U$S 300.- la misma incluye el transfer hotel/marina/hotel; lunch box con sandwiches y bebidas; guia de pesca y embarcación hasta dos personas. La pesca con mosca de altura para Sailfish y/o Dolphin (Dorado) tiene un costo de entre U$S 450.- y U$S 800.- dependiendo de la embarcacion y permite hasta 4 pasajeros, tambien se incluyen los transfers, lunch box y bebidas.
Los meses de Diciembre, Enero, Febrero y Marzo tienen mucha demanda por lo que recomendamos hacer la reserva con anterioridad.

» My day with Nacho produced plenty of action ! by: Chris Daughters - December 2009 Cozumel es un destino de bajo costo para pescar bonefish, sanook y tarpon, y la pesca en los flats es muy divertida. Considero que un buen dia de pesca de bonefish esta basado en cuantos peces uno ve y cuantos casteos uno puede realizar. Si pesco casi todo el dia, ese es un buen dia. No he logrado grandes cantidades de bonefsh, pero de 6 a 12 me satisfacen. Mi dia con Nacho fue muy productivo con buenos resultados, con la posibilidad de castear y caturar snook y algunos baby tarpon. Me he sorprendido con el tamaño de los bonefish, el guia sugirio que uno de ellos pesaba unas 7 libras, yo creo que estab mas cerca de las 6 lbs. Cozumel es un respetable destino para bonefsh mas muchos otros.

Alberto fue nuestro guía. Ha sido genial. El veia los peces como yo jamas los veria, fue paciente y nos ayudo mucho a dos clientes que nunca antes habian pescado bonefish. With much guidance (and patience I might add) from Albert I finally got the hang of it and ended up with 12 bones! I was extremely pleased with the attention and persistence that Albert put into getting us on the fish. He stayed at it very hard all day long. I was hoping for 3 or 4 fish so you can imagine how excited I was to get 12! I will definitely use these guys again if I am in Cozumel! Some of my business associates that were traveling with us used other services and ended up catching NO bonefish. They also indicated that their guide did not seem to care. Not the case with me - I think Albert and Nacho (jr) were as excited as me when I hooked the first one! Thanks for all your help in making this a great trip for me! Nacho did a great job & put us on a ton of bonefish. I had lots of shots at tailing fish. We saw 1 permit & a few baby tarpon, snook & some big cudas, too. We had a windy day but Nacho seemed to always position the boat just right. I would recomend him as a guide to anyone. The fishing was great, Nacho gave me lots of shots at tailing bonefish, and I had a couple of shots at permit (no luck with the picky permit though). I caught more bonefish than I've ever had before. » Cozumel, México by: Steve Norman - March 24th, 2004 Daniel, I didn't get a chance to give you more info this morning as I just got back to my office from Mexico. Alberto did a tremendous job providing food and drinks (coke, water, Pepsi). He also had all the equipment we required including a rain jacket! He was very knowledgeable about the local area and answered all my questions about bone fishing. He was very professional in handling the boat and treated me with much respect and courtesy. Although I have fly fished for many years and was able to cast with some accuracy I am sure Alberto could help both the experienced fisherman and the novice. As I stated earlier the trip was a huge success for me. Thank you again for the excellent job you did in organizing my day. I look forward to fishing with Fly fishing Caribe again soon. » Cozumel, México by: Kev¡n Nunley - Daniel, I've been wanting to write you for the past two days but, unfortunately, I've been too busy to get everything written down. Our day of fishing was wonderful and definitely the highlight of our trip to Cozumel. It was obvious from the start of the day that Nacho is an extremely good guide with a lot of experience. Both he and his son, Alberto, were very good at spotting fish and teaching me the techniques for bone fishing. A successful guided trip, to me, is one in which I learn how to fish the area I am in and catch the sought after fish. I learned a lot on this trip and, as a bonus, was successful in catching fish. It was a great day! Furthermore, Nacho also did a very good job of helping my girlfriend, Julee, catch fish and better learn how to cast a fly rod. It was a great feeling to look up from my fishing and see her having fun, casting to fish in the flats! Nacho and Alberto really went the extra mile in making sure that our trip was of the highest quality. I have lots of friends that complain about the cost of guides in all sorts of areas. It's guides like Nacho and his son Alberto that remind me just how important and worthwhile it is to spend the money on a quality guide. Assuming all of the guides listed in your service are of the same quality, I know I will return to you for guide service for future fishing trips.
