» General Information:
Ingá Lodge is startegic located between Corrientes and Posadas airport in Northeast of Argentina. The season starts in August/September and finishes in November and starts again in January and finishes in May. The fishing area cover over 40 miles with islands, channels and streams. Depending on the condition of the river you may cast on sight with floating lines, fast sinking lines are a good choice to fish the runs and riffles for larger dorados. The upper Paraná river offer the chance to fishing dorado (Salminus Braziliensis) pirá pitá (Brycon Orbignyanus) and pacú (Colossoma Mitrei) in pristine waters.
The area is famous for the beauty of the sights and ecosystem biodiversity. They are home of birds, mammals and reptiles. The upper Parana is one of the few destinations in the Argentine Northeast where big dorados can still be fly fished.
To access the Lodge you can fly from Buenos Aires to Corrientes or Resistencia or Posadas, and then drive 93 miles to destination.
The dorados caught in the upper Parana weigh between 5 and 12 pounds. However, over 15 and up to 25-pounders are usually caught.
» Package:
The fishing packages could be from 3 up to 5 days or more, including roundtrip transportation from Corrientes, Resistencia or Posadas airport. Full board accommodation, fishing on boat and well qualified fishing guides with an excelent knowledge of the river.
» Accommodation:
Accommodation is offered in a Lodge with excellent facilities in a 1,600 acres property. Direct accest to the river in the same property only 10 minutes from the Lodge. There are three comfortable rooms with air conditioning and private bathroom. The ranch offers a dining room, swimming pool and typical meals for the visitor´s delight. The fishing trips are done in the morning and in the afternoon, usually coming back at midday for lunch and relaxing.
» Tackle and Equipment:
Rods: for line #8, 9-foot long
Reels: Any high performance reel will do, with a good brake system and no less than 150 yards 20 lbs. backing.
Lines: WF Floating line for tropical weather. Also, Fast-Sinking shootings Teeny T-250 and T-300.
Leaders: for floating lines from 7 to 9 feet long, with strong butts to turn big flies, 20/30 -pound- resistance tippets, with 20 cm of 20-pound steel wire.
Flies: Deceiver type, sizes should range from 1/0 to 3/0. Poppers and divers are also used for pacú and pirá pitá. Black, purple, chartreuse, red, white and yellow and its combinations have proved good color options.
Accessories: Pincers, hook sharpener, a pair of pliers, polarized glasses, sun block, lip protector, insect repellent, neoprene wading boots, etc.
Clothes: Light shirt and trousers for tropical weather ( Exoficcio, Patagonia, Columbia, etc), hat, sandals, and a light water-proof jacket.
