» General Information:
Rio Pico area offers over 20 lakes of water with clear-water rivers and streams which are home to Brown Trout, Rainbow Trout, Brook Trout and Chinook Salmon. These species live there or migrate without suffering from any fishing pressure. The fishing in this area is considered one of the best in the southern hemisphere due to the quality and quantity of its fish.

Rio Pico town is located 230 km from Esquel city, in the province of Chubut, Argentina. To get there, you need to take a flight to Esquel and then transfer by 4x4 vehicles. The journey takes about 3 hours along both paved and unpaved roads.

» Package:
We are offering a fishing package that consists of 5 nights and 4 1/2 fishing days. Our aim is that our guests get to know Rio Pico area, a remote region with over 20 lakes and different rivers offering perfect conditions for wading or fishing from boat or catarraf. Our package combines different alternatives to fish lakes, streams and rivers as many hours per day as possible.

Day 1
Reception at the airport in Esquel city and transfer to the Lodge by 4x4 vehicles. The lodge is located close to Aldea A.Viglione, 3-hour drive. Late afternoon fishing in the lake in front of the Lodge. Dinner.

Day 2
Breakfast and transfer to the fishing area. Rainbow, brown trout and brook fishing. Return to the lodge for lunch and going back to another spot. for fishing on dries and nymphs in the late hours. Dinner at the Lodge.

Day 3
Breakfast and transfer to Rio Pico or Las Pampas river. Fishing Rainbows and Browns on dry flies and nymphs in Cajon Chico. Shore-lunch, fishing in the afternoon and return to the Lodge for dinner.

Day 4
Breakfast and transfer to other fishing spot depending on the fishing and weather conditions. Fishing of large rainbow and brown trout on dry flies, nymphs and streamers. Lunch at the Lodge. Fishing until late afternoon and return to the Lodge for dinner.

Day 5
Breakfast and transfer to the confluence of rivers Nilson, de las Pampas and Pico. Fishing Rainbows, Browns and Brookies on dry fly, nymphs and streamers. Shore-lunch, fishing in the afternoon and return to the Lodge for dinner.

Day 6
Breakfast and transfer to Esquel.

» Accommodation:
Nestled at the foot of the Andes Mountains, the exclusive luxury fishing Lodge is located 200 km from Esquel and 25 km from Chile. It has an amazing view and is surrounded by a forest of ñires and lengas, plants indigenous to the area. The Lodge offers the ideal facilities to fulfil the anglers needs. There is a dining room, a bar and a sitting room with a fireplace. The Lodge was built out of wood and stone, in perfect harmony with its surroundings. It can accommodate up to 4 anglers in 4 spacious double rooms, each with private bath, hot water, heating, and emergency lighting. The exclusive Lodge is very well decorated and comfortable. The cheff prepares delicious dishes focused on traditional Argentina cuisine complemented with excelent wines. For non anglers the Lodge offer activities such as horseback raiding; hiking; boating and bird watching.

» Tackle and Equipment:
Rod #4 to #7 or 8 Wt, depending on the river or lake. Reel from 100 to 150-yard backing. Floating lines WF, Intermediate for Lakes 3 and 5 and sinking lines, Teeny 130 or 150 for certain occasions.

Dry flies: Humpy; Adams; Adams Parachute; Goddard Caddis; Elk hair Caddis; Chernobyl; Scum Duns; Royal Wulf; Madam X; Bomber.

Nymphs: Copper John; Prince; Zug Bug; Copper John Green; Skip Nimph; Hares Ear; Pheasant Tail; Damsel Nimphs; Dragon Nimphs; Scuds; Damsel Adult; Poxyback Nimphs.

Streamers: Wully Bugger; Crystal Buggers; Fuzzy Guzzy; Conehead Leech; Fox´s Cone Buggers; Crystal Rubber Buggers; Yuk Bug.

Other equipment: Leaders 1X ; 2X; 3X and 4X. Tippet 4X/3X/2X/1X; hook sharpener; tweezers, waders (Neoprene or breathable, like Gore-tex), waterproof jacket, polarized sunglasses, hat or cap, sun block and warm clothes.

» Additional Information:
Fishing packages can be tailor-made to fit each groups requirements. The package is subject to change if the fishing conditions or the state of the rivers and roads should require it. The guides will always take the final decision with regard to the river, lake or stream to fish, considering the weather or other conditions that may affect the fishing.

The most important rivers and lakes in the area are: Lake #1, Lake # 2; Lake # 3; Lake # 4; Lake # 5; Vintter lake; Engaño lake; Guacho lake; Los Niños lake; River Pico Cajón Grande and Cajón Chico; Wilson river; de las Pampas river; Corcovado river; Tecka river.

U$S 3,750.- Per person double basis. 5-night accommodation and 4 days full fishing, single basis room and sharing guide.
Rates include:
Transfer Esquel/Lodge/Esquel. Fishing in more than 20 lakes and rivers (wade fishing, by boat or catarraf). One guide each 2 anglers. Accommodation with 3 meals and beverages (wine and beer included). Open bar.
Rates do not include:
Airfare Buenos Aires/Esquel/Buenos Aires. Fishing equipment and flies. Imported liquors or other drinks not included in the package. Fishing licence. Gratuities and other personal expenses.
Notes:
Non anglers activities.
