» General Information:
Four hours and a half from Cancun, the village of Xcalak is ideally situated in the south of Yucatán Peninsula on the Caribbean. It is the last Mexican town before Belize border. Two kilometres to the north of Xcalak, the lodge offers everything that is necessary to enjoy quiet vacations full of adventure. Xcalac is a fishermen village with a population of only 200 permanent residents. It takes one hour to get to San Pedro Belize by boat, another quiet village where you do some shopping and enjoy the good restaurants. Just in front of the lodge you can go scuba diving in the longest coral barrier of the western hemisphere. Its clear and turquoise waters are home to a wide variety of sea turtles, rays, reef sharks and a lot more. After sailing for an hour you find one of the scuba-diving treasures: El Banco Chinchorro.
The lodge offers 16 wooden cottages with palm roof and private baths, accommodating up to 14 anglers and 7 fully-equipped boats. A large coconut plantation offering places perfect to rest and contemplate makes it a dreamlike destination.
David and Ilana, the owners, are in charge of the staff: the chef, assistants, scuba-diving instructor and fishing guides.
» Package:
The lodge is open from November through the end of August. The flats and other fishing locations are within half an hour by boat and are mainly unexplored. These beautiful flats offer the chance of spotting countless schools of bonefish, permit, baby tarpon, large barracudas, jacks and other game species. You may not bump into another boat during the whole fishing day.
