We are proud to introduce the first Uruguay big game hunting ranch: "Rincon de Los Matreros".
At this hunting lodge you will have the chance to experience superior game in a unique habitat, characterized by small moutains and hills, with big destity of bush were animals find a perfect place to hide.
Uruguay is becoming a new, but amazing hunting destination, where you will find excellent trophies of a wide range of species. Red Deer, Wild Boar, Fallow Deer, Axis Deer, Feral Goat, Feral sheep, Muflon and Dorset Ram are the species you will find at the ranch. All the programs are tailor-made based on hunters main interest and all inclusive system.
The lodge is located in 33 Orientales area, 3.5-hour drive from Montevideo city The hunting area covers more than 30,000 acres of private property. The landscape of bushes, green plains, hilly terrain and rich fauna create unique scenery.
Beside a superior hunt, you will also be able to shoot birds: Perdiz at the ranch and high volume Dove shooting in a closer area. A blast!

» Accommodation:
The main house has 6 double-rooms with private bath. The present facilities, were built on the remains of the old stone and wood structure that dates back to 1900. This was done with the intent of preserving the charm and history of the place. There are suites available in a colonial style including stone, handcrafted bricks and wood , apart from the social area where you will find a large living room with a fireplace, a dining area, an indoor grill, and a wine cellar among other things. There are comfortable suites available, each with its own fireplace and dressing room. And most important of all , every room offers spectacular views of the hills surrounding the main houses. The rusticity in the house is contrasted by certain modern touches like electric energy, digital telephony, connection to the internet and satellite television.
In what regards gastronomy, you will have available a menu particularly elaborated by a Chef expert in the preparation of game meats, combined with garden vegetables and other home - made accompaniments. Pasta, bread and preserves are all handcrafted at Rincón de los Matreros. And since a good meal calls for a good wine, you will be able to select it directly at the cellar, from a wide selection of top - level wines made in Uruguay, Chile and Argentina.

Where the lodge is located how to get there:
Rincon de Los Matreros Lodge is located in 33 orientales area, 3.5-hour drive from Montevideo, Uruguay capital city. Once you arrive at Montevideo airport a member of the staff will be waiting to drive you to the lodge. Private charter flights can be arranged.
Big Game Hunting Equipment:
The weather is cold during the morning/evening and warm during the day. For this time of the year (March-April), in Uruguay is fall / winter.
Clothes: hunting jacket, hunting trousars, shooting gloves, cap (all the mention items, requires camo), lightweight boots, a polar sweatshirt or warm jacket (the temperature decreases at night).
Other equipment: polarized sunglasses, insect repelent, sunblock SPF 40 or higher, shirts and vest, set of underwear, good comfortable socks, an extra pair of sandals or sneakers.
Miscelaneous: photo camera, video camera, bateries, prescribed medicines, personal effects.
